TOMS RIVER: The murder of a father of five has left a family heartbroken, and has a neighborhood worried. The shooting killed Nymere Tinsley 25 from Brick, and injured Anthony Miller 29 of Neptune, and Jamal Bland 24 of Asbury Park. Family has told us that Nymere was involved in a gang but got out of it. “He really tried to turn his life around. He owned a business that was very successful, and he really wanted to take care of his children.” The business license of the hookah lounge was revoked a couple days after the shooting by the township.

The Ocean County Prosecutors Office has released the following statement.

“Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced today that the victim of the homicide that occurred at 1769 Hooper Avenue in Toms River on August 27, 2022, has been identified as Nymere Tinsley, 25, of Brick Township. Two other victims also suffered gunshot wounds at the scene. They have been identified as Anthony Miller, 29, of Neptune. Miller is still hospitalized and is listed in critical but stable condition. Jamal Bland, 24, of Asbury Park, was treated for his injuries and released.

Prosecutor Billhimer emphasizes the active and ongoing nature of this investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
