WEST MILFORD: On September 3, 2022 at 2:32 West Milford Fire Companies 6,3,&4 were dispatched for a reported porch fire at 19 Echo Lane. First arriving units encountered the front of the structure well involved and fire through the roof. A 2nd alarm was immediately transmitted along with a full response from all Township Fire Companies. Multiple hand lines were stretched attacking the fire. A 3rd alarm was transmitted bring long additional mutual aid from surrounding towns to cover at the firehouses. Ringwood and Bloomingdale was redirected to the scene. The fire was brought under control approximately 1 hour later. Units remained on scene conducting extensive overhaul for several hours. 1 occupant was transported to the hospital by the West Milford First Aid Squad for smoke inhalation. The home is uninhabitable and the occupants are staying with family. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the West Milford Fire Marshals Office
