PARKWAY NORTH: Two people died in separate crashes only a few miles apart this morning on the Garden State Parkway. At 5:43 this morning on Parkway North mile marker 157.9 in Clifton a BMW lost control and hit the guardrail and trees and reentered the roadway. Three people were ejected from the vehicle. Two have serious injuries, and another was pronounced dead on scene.

15 minutes later a pedestrian was struck at mile marker 157.9 on Parkway North. The pedestrian was hit by an unknown vehicle that took off. The pedestrian then was hit by another car that stayed on scene. Police are actively investigating both incidents.
