HOLMDEL: Route 35, and 36 were closed this morning after a crisis patient escaped Bayshore Hospital in Holdmel. The patient escaped a van that was running in front of the hospital. The driver of the van then crashed on Route 36. A good semaratin stopped to help the driver of the stolen van ,and then had their car stolen. Police pursued the vehicle that was stolen until he crashed on Route 35. The driver got out of the vehicle and held up a weapon of some sort and was shot by police. The suspect was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in unknown condition. Monmouth County Prosecutors Office is investigating the incident. We will update as we get further information.
