BRICK: On November 27, the Brick Police received a report that a Veterans Memorial Middle School student sent a Snapchat to other VMMS students in which the sender was holding a package of Smarties candy with weapons pictured in the background. The Brick Township Police located the student and addressed the situation. The weapons in the picture were not firearms. They were air soft and have been seized. There is no credible threat at this time.

Brick Police and Brick Schools are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all our students, staff, parents, and community. BTPS and BTPD want to ensure the community that “we always take such threats seriously,” and that we encourage anyone who sees or hears of suspicious activity to report it immediately.
