TOMS RIVER: At approximately 0510 hrs Toms River Emergency Communications received multiple 911 calls for Structure Fire with entrapment in the Georgetown section of East Dover. East Dover Fire Company Sta. 28 was dispatched along with Silverton Fire Company Sta. 29 and Toms River Fire Company 2 Sta. 26 as the RIT.

The fire which subsequently reached a 3rd Alarm All Hands Working Fire brought the rest of Toms River Township Fire Department to the scene. The fire was eventually brought under control after aggressive pushes into Division 1 and 2, and after Ladder pipes were used to knock down the bulk of the fire that was unable to be accessed due to collapse hazards and compromised roof structure.

Occupants were removed from the structure prior to the Fire Department’s arrival. Occupants were transported to local Hospitals for evaluation. Two pet cats were rescued from the structure and reunited with the owners.

Crews operated on scene for approximately three hours to bring the fire under control. Scene was turned over to the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention and Toms River Police Department for the Origin and Cause Investigation.

Job well done by all on scene and our thanks are extended to the Coverage Companies providing Mutual Aid Coverage to the town as crews operated on scene.
