STAFFORD: A local pride celebration is causing a lot of controversy on social media. The event called “Pride in the Park” is taking place Wednesday June 21 from 5:00-8:00 at Manahawkin Lake Park. However, protesters of the event are upset that the event is taking place in their township. Numerous residents in the Stafford Facebook pages are not happy about the event including children. One of the performances taking place is a child friendly drag Queen performance. One commenter stated “Do what you want but don’t include our children.” Numerous residents are even calling for a protest of the event. Will you be attending the event?
