POINT PLEASANT: Katelyn Morales from Howell, and Point Pleasant, NJ is currently fighting cancer. A fundraiser is now available to support her mom, Tabatha, who has been by Kate’s side at the hospital 24×7 for the last two months in addition to having two kids (Madison and Taylor) at home with their dad. At 14 years old, Kate was recently diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma that has quickly spread to multiple parts of her body. She has been receiving radiation, chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusions (and the list goes on) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) since mid-June for this aggressive cancer with no signs of coming home anytime soon. Doctors say her form of cancer is rare, which is why it took months for a formal diagnosis while she continued to get sick before being admitted. She’s also suffered a series of set backs over the last two months, including one of the masses impairing her ability to walk, so in addition to treatment she is undergoing intense physical rehabilitation. Kate was looking forward to starting high school in the fall and her joy in life has always been soccer, track, and spending time with her family and friends, but now she must focus on getting better, which is going to be an ongoing and difficult battle. Her treatment will be a 2-year long and very expensive journey. Any donations you could provide would help pay for her ongoing and costly medical expenses as well as living expenses, especially since Tabatha has been unable to work in order to care for Kate. Tending to Kate at CHOP is now her full time job. Without the ability to work, daily food, gas and household bills keep piling up. Please consider donating. Every little bit helps and no amount is too small. I know that by coming together to support Kate and her mom, Tabatha, we can all help make their lives a little easier during this traumatizing time. Thank you in advance for your support! #cancersucks! #fightforkate!
The photo of Kate was from her last fun memory where she attended her 8th grade formal. The next day she was admitted to CHOP and hasn’t left since. The link to the go fund me can be found below.
