LBI: State Police have been trying to get a whale out of the Barnegat Bay since the weekend according to residents of LBI. State Police were called to Gulf Point for reports of a stranded whale in the mud. Police were able to free the whale. However, it’s having a difficult time navigating its way back into the ocean. Boaters in the Barnegat Bay have been seen trying to help escort the whale back to the ocean. While little progress has been made it still has a long way to go back to the ocean. We will update the whereabouts of the whale as the days go on.
