LEONARDO: On October 18th, the Clean Ocean Action crew received notice of a small whale deceased and floating in Leonardo Marina next to the boat ramp. This news follows a couple days after a deceased bottlenose dolphin was found in Barnegat Light. According to Marine Mammal Stranding Center’s necropsy chart, the dolphin was “heavily scavenged” and “towed to a nearby state park for disposal,” noting it was “tangled in a crab pot.”
