KEYPORT: The Coast Guard is searching for a missing kayaker in Keyport Harbor, NJ.
Missing is 74-year-old Zhenjing Ding, a 5’6” 140–160-pound male.
Coast Guard Sector New York command center watch standers received a report Monday at 6:30 p.m. from Keyport police at that Ding’s kayak was found near Cedar Street Park along with personal belongings, and no sight of him in the area.

- Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod
- Coast Guard Air Atlantic City
- New York Police Department
- New York Fire Department
- Keyport Police and Fire Department
- Monmouth County Sherriff’s office
- New Jersey State Police

Keyport Police released the following statement. The Keyport Police Department received a report yesterday at approximately 6pm that a kayaker who went fishing out of Keyport has gone missing. The kyak was found near Walnut Street in Keyport along with personal belongings.
We are using all available resources to locate Mr. Jaio. Keyport Police Department, along with the US Coast Guard, Keyport’s First Aid and Fire Department , MC Sherriffs office, NJSP, Union Beach and Aberdeen Police and many other agencies, collaborated tonight to attempt to locate our missing Kayaker.
While the Coast Guard continues the search tonight, our teams will re join them tomorrow and remain vigilant. Our hearts and thoughts are with this family until their beloved member is located.
