BAYVILLE: On January 25th 2024 at 11:00 a.m., the Berkeley Township Police Department responded to 1016 Rt .9 for a male that had fallen from the water tower and was severely injured.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim laying outside the maintenance tube of the water tower with compound fractures to his arms and legs.

Berkeley EMS and Paramedics responded and transported the male to Jersey Shore Medical Center for severe injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the male was inside the maintenance tube free climbing when he fell.

Berkeley Detectives and The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating. Representatives from Aqua Water were also on scene to assist.

This incident is currently under investigation.
