WALL TOWNSHIP- On Saturday, February 10, 2024, members of the Wall Township Police Department’s Detective Bureau were conducting surveillance in reference to recent thefts of catalytic converter thefts and of U.S. mail from mailboxes in the area.

While on this detail they came across an occupied car that was parked near the wood line in the 5000-block of Belmar Blvd. A motor vehicle stop was initiated, and detectives encountered the driver, Rashad Black (38) of Hillside, and the passenger James Miller (37) of Paterson. After a road-side investigation detectives conducted a search of the vehicle and located two fake New Jersey driver’s licenses and two fake credit cards which matched the fake driver’s licenses.

Both Miller and Black were charged with possession of fraudulent government documents and criminal trespassing. Black was released on a summons with a pending court date, while Miller’s charges were placed on a warrant. Miller was later transferred to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all the trial rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and New Jersey State Law.
