COLLINGWOOD: At approximately 1130pm on Wednesday evening, Squad 16 and BLS 16 were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident on Route 130 at Sloan Ave. While responding numerous calls were placed to 911 reporting a car on fire with a person trapped. The assignment was upgraded adding Engine 1132, Squirt 15, BLS 15 and Virtua ALS. Squad 16 BLS 16 arrived to find a single vehicle that had split in half from the collision and was on fire. Crews initiated a fire attack and rescue operation. The patient was extricated and transported to a local trauma center. The Camden County Prosecutors Office and Collingswood Police Department are investigating the crash.
