South Toms River and surrounding communities are mourning the loss of Mike DeNino, the long time manager of Luigi’s Meat Market. Luigi’s posted the following today announcing the heartbreaking loss:

We share with saddened hearts the sudden passing of not only our employee, coworker, lifelong friend, but a family member. Mike has been a staple employee & manager to our small business for over 25 years. Everyone that walked thru the doors of Luigi’s knew Mike. He always had a smile on his face & enjoyed his job to the fullest, even until the end. As an employee becomes a friend, he easily became a family member. Luigi’s will always be there but without Mike it will not be the same. We will always remember his bright smile & caring soul, his funny jokes & his catchy commercials playing throughout the store. He is one example that STR really is the “little town with the big heart”
