BARNEGAT: The crash occurred at 3:13pm the Garden State Parkway southbound MP 68.9 in Barnegat Twp. Preliminary investigation revealed that Mario Medici, 94, of Howell, NJ, was operating a Honda Accord southbound on the Garden State Parkway, in Barnegat Twp, Ocean County. In the area of milepost 68.9, the front of the Honda impacted the concrete toll plaza divider. As a result of the crash, Mario Medici sustained fatal injuries.

The two left toll plaza lanes were closed for approximately three hours. Minimal traffic congestion resulted. The crash remains under investigation.
