ATLANTIC CITY: At approximately 5:40 p.m. Friday, February 3rd, Atlantic City Police Department officers spotted flames coming up from under the Boardwalk at New Jersey Avenue and notified the Atlantic City Fire Department. Responding firefighters found debris caught fire under the Boardwalk. Fire crews were able to place the fire under control at approximately 6:30 p.m. They remain on scene at this time putting out hotspots. One firefighter is being treated for a minor injury. A section of the Boardwalk sustained damage and will need to be replaced.
