MYRTLE BEACH: Officials advise that the balloon was shot down earlier today off the coast of the Carolinas. An operation is underway to recover debris from the Ocean. The balloon was estimated to be flying at an altitude of 60,000 feet and estimated to be the size of three buses. The FAA and Coast Guard cleared the air and ocean before shooting it down.
