Avenel Fire Department released the following on a freak accident earlier today.

Earlier today members were dispatched out to the Treasure Island Self Storage Facility on St. Georges Avenue for an industrial accident. Members arrived and met up with Avenel EMS who had an employee with their leg stuck in a concrete floor and needed extrication.
A special request to Perth Amboy Rescue 1 for their technical rescue team and Colonia Rescue 12 were made bringing additional resources to the scene for assistance.
Together crews operated utilizing power saws and hand tools to remove the flooring around the patients leg and safely removed the patient from the floor who was then packaged for transport.
