Multi-Agency Operation Yields Drugs and Cash, 6 Arrested
For Immediate Release: February 10, 2023.
On February 9th, 2023, members of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Sections, in conjunction with the DEA Atlantic City Resident Office, and the Liberty Mid-Atlantic DEA Atlantic County HIDTA task force, conducted surveillance operations in the areas of 1300 Baltic Avenue and the 1300 to 1600 blocks of Atlantic Avenue. The operation stemmed from continued complaints of illegal narcotics distribution activity and quality of life issues throughout the area.
As a result of this operation, six adults were arrested and charged with numerous CDS violations. Distribution amounts of cocaine and heroin, packaged for street sale, were recovered during the operation. In addition, over $700.00 in US currency was seized as proceeds of illegal narcotics sales. Two of the arrested individuals were found to have active warrants for their arrest.
ARRESTED: Taj Barker, 32, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Contempt of court (violation of a CDS restraining order), possession of prescription legend drugs, and contempt of court.
ARRESTED: Demetris Mallory, 24, of Atlantic City.
CHARGED: Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, Intent within 1000 feet Public School, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1000 feet of a public school, obstruction, resisting arrest, hindering one’s own apprehension, and contempt of court.
ARRESTED: Cinque Oliver, 19, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1000 feet of a public school.
ARRESTED: Dashawn Mallory, 20, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a public school.
ARRESTED: Kelly Traynor, 57, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS,
ARRESTED: Kelly Frazier 54 of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS and obstruction.
Demetris Mallory and Barker were issued summonses but were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility due to active warrants. Dashawn Mallory, Oliver, Traynor, and Frazier were released on summonses pending a future court date. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
