NEPTUNE: Wayside Fire Department released the following information regarding a fire on the 1600 block of Monroe in Neptune.

RIT ASSIGNMENT

Yesterday evening, members of District 36 RIT (Comprised of Rapid Intervention Team Members from Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 and Wayside Fire Company) were dispatched into Neptune Township for a Box Alarm working residential structure fire. Chief 2-66 along with Rescue 2-85 and Rescue Engine 1-80 quickly responded to the scene. Once on location, crews conducted proactive RIT standby with Glendola Fire Company RIT for members working interior and were able to split into two separate crews on the “A” and “C” sides to cover a full 360. RIT crews were later released due to the fire being placed under control by initial crews. Great job by first arriving engine and ladder companies in an aggressive fire attack and preventing further damage! Chief 34-66 had command.
