PISCATAWAY: Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Captain Warren Morrison of the Piscataway Police Department announced today that an Iselin man has been charged in connection with the fatal hit and run that occurred during the early morning hours of February 16, 2023.Â
Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 12:58 A.M., authorities responded to the Southbound Lane of Route 18 near the border of Piscataway and New Brunswick, following the report of a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on the Southbound side of Route 18 and causing a head-on collision with another vehicle. Upon their arrival, authorities located the victim, Max Spivak, 21, of Old Bridge, who was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the other vehicle, Nageswar Polamuri, 42, of Iselin, fled the scene but was eventually located.
Today, Polamuri was charged with one count of second-degree Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Polamuri are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
