Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Lawrence Cattano of the Perth Amboy Police Department announced today that a Perth Amboy Doctor has been arrested and charged with Criminal Sexual Contact. 

On February 25, 2023, Dr. Gurvindra Johal, 55, of Colonia, NJ, was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Contact. Dr. Johal was charged following an investigation involving women alleging that Dr. Johal touched them inappropriately while under his care at Amboy Urgent Care, located at 469 Cornell Street, Perth Amboy, NJ.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Dr. Johal are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
