COLLINGSWOOD: Collingswood Fire Department issued the following statement regarding an overnight crash.

Just after midnight this morning, Squad 16 and BLS 16 were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash at Route 130 and Cattell Avenue. Resources arrived to find a vehicle that struck a utlitily pole then proceeded through a fence and ended up in a shed. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to arrival.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind drivers that the posted speed limit on Route 130 in Collingswood is 40 mph. It is not the qualifying track for the Daytona 500. Drivers have a responsibility to abide by speed limits for the safety of other drivers on the roadway, as well as those who live adjacent to the roadway.
