SHIP BOTTOM: Today at 10:47 this morning Ship Bottom and Surf City fire companies were dispatched to a smoke investigation in the area of Hotel LBI. Police arrived and found a dumpster on fire against the building, PD immediately deployed extinguishers to keep the fire away from the building. Crews arrived and went in service with a handline and a quickly knocked down the fire and overhauled the area. The scene was turned over to the Ocean County Fire Marshal. Once crews arrived back at the firehouse we were dispatched for a fire alarm on 17th street in Ship Bottom. Crews investigated and found multiple detectors that were bad and needed to be replaced. All units returned to quarters without incident. Big thank you to the Hotel LBI staff for supplying our Firefighters with bottles of water on scene.
