FEBRUARY 2023 STRPD POLICE BLOTTER

SOUTH TOMS RIVER

ROBBERY – On Wednesday February 1st, Patrolman William Kosh Jr. and Patrolman Jaden Kosh responded to the area of Dover Road for the report of a robbery. An on-scene investigation determined that the victim was assaulted and had personal belongings taken from him after the assault. The suspect was identified and was located at his residence shortly after the robbery. The suspect, a 43-year-old Atco man, was taken into custody and charged with robbery and theft. The man was booked, processed, and lodged in Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

WARRANT SERVICE/HINDERING – On Saturday February 4th, Patrolman Garrett Stratton conducted a motor vehicle stop on Ardmore Avenue. An on-scene investigation led to the arrest of the driver, a 32-year-old South Toms River man, for an outstanding warrant out of South Toms River. The man was also charged with hindering his own apprehension for providing officers with false information regarding his name. The man was taken into custody, processed, and released pending a future municipal court date.

DWI/ASSAULT – On Sunday February 5th, Patrolman Jaden Kosh and Officer Hailey Hill responded to the area of Lucky Spirits on Atlantic City Boulevard for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Ptl. Kosh determined the operator of one of the vehicles, a 34-year-old South Toms River woman to be operating under the influence. The woman was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and unsafe backing. The woman was also charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a police officer. The woman was processed and released pending a future court date.

THEFT – On Saturday February 11th, Officer Hailey Hill and Patrolman Garrett Stratton responded to the area of Magnolia Avenue for the report of a theft. An on-scene investigation determined the suspect took several amazon packages from the victim’s front porch. The suspect was identified and located in a nearby area. The suspect, a 42-year-old Berkeley Township man, was taken into custody and charged with theft. The man was booked, processed, and released pending a future municipal court date.

WARRANT SERVICE – On Sunday February 12th, Patrolman Garrett Stratton encountered a suspicious person in the area of South Main Street. An on-scene investigation led to the arrest of a 49-year-old South Toms River man for an outstanding warrant out of Seaside Heights. The man was taken into custody, processed, and released pending a future court date with Seaside Heights.

DWI/CHILD ENDANGERMENT – On Monday February 13th, Officer Hailey Hill and Patrolman Jaden Kosh responded to the Dance Centre on Flint Road for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Ofc. Hill determined the operator of one of the vehicles, a 41-year-old Toms River woman, to be operating under the influence. The woman was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and careless driving. The woman was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child and failure to allow fingerprinting. The woman was booked, processed, and lodged in Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.

DWI – On Saturday February 18th, Patrolman Garrett Stratton conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9. Ptl. Stratton determined the operator of the vehicle, a 36-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman, to be operating under the influence. The woman was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. The woman was processed and released pending a future municipal court date.

WARRANT SERVICE – On Saturday February 18th, Officer Hailey Hill conducted a motor vehicle stop on Dover Road. An on scene investigation led to the arrest of the driver, a 34-year-old Toms River woman, for an outstanding warrant out of Toms River. The woman was taken into custody, processed, then turned over to TRPD for further processing.

DWI – On Friday February 24th, Officer Hunter Calvetto encountered a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Sundaes Ice Cream on Atlantic City Boulevard. Ofc. Calvetto determined the operator of the vehicle, a 44-year-old Berkeley Township woman, to be operating under the influence. The woman was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and refusal to provide breath samples. The woman was processed and released pending a future municipal court date.

THEFT – On Saturday February 25th, Patrolman Garrett Stratton and Officer Hunter Calvetto received a Be On The Lookout (BOLO) from TRPD in reference to a vehicle involved in a theft that occurred in Toms River. Officers located the suspect vehicle on Lakeview Drive and subsequently detained both occupants. TRPD was contacted and one of the occupants, a 24-year-old Pennsylvania man, was placed under arrest. The man was taken into custody and turned over to TRPD for further processing.

WARRANT ARREST – On Saturday February 25th, after an investigation conducted by Patrolman Garrett Stratton into an eluding incident that occurred on January 13th, 2023, an arrest warrant was issued for a 32-year-old South Toms River woman. The woman was located by the New Jersey State Police and taken into custody. The woman was charged with the January 13th eluding, as well as obstruction of justice and driving while suspended for DWI. The woman was taken into custody, processed, and lodged in Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
