Vice Unit Operation Leads to 2 Arrests, Drugs Recovered
For Immediate Release: March 15, 2023

ATLANTIC CITY: On March 15, 2023, members of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section conducted a surveillance operation in the area of Renaissance Plaza, located in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue. The operation was a result of continued complaints from businesses and the public concerning illegal narcotics distribution activity and quality of life issues throughout the area.

During the course of the operation, detectives observed two individuals, Rashawn Davis and Guy Bruce, engage in multiple suspected drug transactions. Davis and Bruce were subsequently detained and found in possession of over half an ounce of suspected cocaine and 20 individual wax folds of suspected heroin. $700.00 in US currency, believed to be proceeds of illegal narcotics sales, was also seized.

The investigation was led by Detectives Chris Dodson and Eric Evans with assistance from detectives of the Special Investigations Section, under the supervision of Detective Sergeant James Herbert.

ARRESTED: Rashawn Davis, 29, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Possession of CDS and possession of CDS with the intent to distribute.

ARRESTED: Guy Bruce, 40, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Possession of CDS (2 Counts), possession of CDS with the intent to distribute (2 Counts) and loitering to obtain & distribute CDS.

Davis and Bruce were released on summonses pending future court dates. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
