Investigation Leads to Three Arrests, Three Handguns Recovered

ATLANTIC CITY: On March 22, 2023, an investigation conducted by detectives of the Special Investigations Section resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the recovery of guns and drugs.
A residential search warrant concluded an investigation into the possession of weapons and drugs inside a residence in the 1300 block of Magellan Avenue. Dequay Belt, Keisha Belt and Damarice Bennett were arrested after detectives recovered three handguns, heroin, paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics, and US currency.
The investigation was led by Detective Eric Evans.
ARRESTED: Dequay Belt, 20-year old male of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon (two counts) and possession of a prohibited device (two counts).
ARRESTED: Damarice Bennett, 36-year old male of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, unlawful possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, certain person not to possess a weapon, money laundering, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Belt and Bennett were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
ARRESTED: Keisha Belt, 39-year old female of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and money laundering.
Belt was released on a summons with a future court date.
The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
