Officials Investigating Indecent Exposure Act Caught on Surveillance Camera

AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATE INDECENT EXPOSURE IN HILLSBOROUGH TOWNSHIP

HILLSBOROUGH: Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and Hillsborough Township Chief of Police Michael McMahon announced an on-going investigation into an indecent exposure incident which occurred on Meadowbrook Drive during the evening hours of Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in Hillsborough Township.

Prosecutor McDonald stated on March 22, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Hillsborough Township Police were dispatched to the area of Meadowbrook Drive on a report of an indecent exposure involving an unknown male. Responding Officers contacted a resident on Meadowbrook Drive, who reported to officers that he had been alerted and observed an unknown male masturbating on his property which was captured on his home surveillance camera. Responding Officers canvassed the area but were unsuccessful in locating the individual. Officers were able to confirm the incident by viewing the surveillance footage. The actor is described as a fair skinned Caucasian male, who was wearing what appeared to be a bandana on his head, no shirt, and underwear when the act occurred.

Prosecutor McDonald stated that detectives from the Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to conduct the investigation. Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, and the Computer Crimes Unit are assisting Hillsborough authorities in this investigation. No suspects have been identified, and investigators are attempting to determine if this recent suspect is the same unidentified individual responsible for similar events last year in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey. Authorities are urging area residents to notify investigators if they observed any suspicious individual matching the description provided from last evening’s event.
