Heroic Efforts Save Person in Water Rescue

WARETOWN: Yesterday, the Waretown Fire Department responded to a report of an injured person in the water of the Barnegat Bay.

OTPD and Waretown Fire Dept. units arrived and located a person in the water.

Waretown Firefighters a part of our Ice/Cold Water Rescue Team entered the water with dry suits and a stokes basket.

They packaged the victim and removed him to shore where he was assessed by EMS due to the cold water and weather exposure.

Special thanks to the Township of Ocean for always supporting us and making sure we have the equipment needed to save lives and property, as well as station 61 and squad 47 Lacey Underwater for providing manpower.
