Motor Vehicle Crash

On 03/25/2023 at approximately 1536 hours Berkeley Township police officers responded to the parking lot of 657 Route 9 for a report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash.

The caller reported that a dark grey pickup truck, apparently a 2008-2012 Ford F150 Super cab, hit a utility pole located at this location causing damages to the front drivers side of the bumper, and then sped away northbound on Route 9.

CCTV footage was gathered to corroborate this information. After the utility company, Jersey Central Power and Light, responded to the area, they advised that the pole will need to be replaced.

At the time of the incident there were no significant disruptions in traffic although it is expected that it will cause traffic delays during the duration of the pole being replaced.

The investigating officer is Patrolman Murawski and charges are expected if the driver and vehicle can be identified.
