UPDATE: Police now advise the shooter is a 28 year old woman not a child or teen.

NASHVILLE: Police were called to an active shooting situation at the Covenant School at the Covenant Presbyterian Church at 10:13 this morning. Police encountered a young girl heavily armed shooting victims. The school goes to 6th grade. The child is said to have been armed with one handgun and two assault rifles and “heavy” ammunition. The shooter is believed to possibly be a pre teen, possibly a sixth grade student. At this time reports are indicating three adults in the school are dead, three children are dead and the police killed the shooter. This is a developing story and we will update as more details become available. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this horrific event.
