TINTON FALLS: Wayside Fire Department issued the following statement on yesterday’s garbage truck fire:

GARBAGE TRUCK FIRE

This morning, members of District 36 responded to the area of Apple Street for a reported garbage truck fire. Chief 4-67 along with Engines 4-77, 1-78 and 2-74 quickly responded to the scene. Once on location, crews established a 5” water supply and deployed 1.75” attack lines to extinguish the trash fire which was ultimately dumped from the garbage truck to prevent further damage. Chief 4-67 had command.
