Storm Updates From Howell Twp EF2 Tornado

HOWELL: We still have about 900 customers without power in the Township. JCP&L is working to restore power. The major problem is the New Prospect Sub-station that was damaged from the storm. The station provides power to the Aldrich Road area of the Township.

Trees that are being removed by residents and placed at the curb post-storm will be picked up by DPW.

They’re are approximately 30-40 homes that were damaged by the tornado and are in various states of disrepair. Spicy Pond Road suffered a direct hit from the EF2 tornado The building department has been checking locations and determining the structural integrity.

The Red Cross still has the shelter open for residents. Right now there are 10 residents relocated at the shelter, and probably more to follow from the Winding Brook Trailer Park, which sustained moderate damage.
