JERSEY CITY: Firefighters are battling a 7 alarm fire at a recycling plant in Jersey City. The fire has spread to nearby woods causing numerous brush fires. Nobody has been seriously hurt in the fire. Firefighters are expected to be at the recycling plant into tomorrow morning.
The fire is impacting the Turnpike in the area of Garfield and Bayview ave. Motorists have been diverted and urged to avoid the Turnpike area at Garfield and Bayview aves (Caven Point) Air quality tests (are being conducted.
