Today, at 1:00 PM, Brick Police responded to a report of a brush fire in the wooded area near Alameda and East Coral Drive. There were no reported injuries or property damage. The Herbertsville, Laurelton, Breton Woods, and Pioneer Hose Fire Companies all responded to extinguish the fire. Mutual aid from the NJ Forest Fire Service and the Point Pleasant Boro, Point Pleasant Beach, and Silverton Fire Departments all helped in controlling the fire. Some of the homes situated near the fire were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Chief David Forrester would like to commend and thank all of the responders; brush fires are extremely challenging and unpredictable.
