Car Plunges in Shrewsbury River

LONG BRANCH: The following is courtesy of the Long Branch Fire Department:

Early this morning at approximately 3am, the LBFD responded to Branchport Park for a rescue call involving a vehicle driven into the Shrewsbury River. Upon arrival on scene firefighters along with arriving police officers observed a submerged vehicle. Working as a team, firefighters Nick Saffioti and Tyler Schick entered the water assisting the driver to safety resulting in no injuries. Firefighters also assisted the Tow company in retrieving the vehicle from the water. Great teamwork by all!
