Thousands of Officers Pay Respect to Fallen Officer Shisler

New Jersey State Police joined thousands of law enforcement officers, emergency responders, friends and family members from around the nation to mourn fallen Deptford Township Police Officer Robert ‘Bobby’ Shisler, as he was laid to rest today.

On March 10, Officer Shisler sustained a grave gunshot wound after a struggle with a pedestrian. During the stop, the suspect fled, leading to a foot chase where both parties exchanged gun fire. The deadly pursuit culminated in both Shisler and the suspect sustaining injuries at the scene. Officer Shisler died May 7th at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where he had undergone treatment.

The New Jersey State Police offers sincere condolences to the Shisler family and the Deptford Township Police Department. Rest in peace, Officer Bobby Shisler.
