Galloway Man Arrested in Domestic Incident, Gun and Drugs Also Recovered

ATLANTIC CITY: The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a Galloway man involved in a domestic incident and in possession of a gun and drugs.

On May 15, 2023 at 3:22 PM, patrol officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of Grant Avenue in reference to criminal mischief. Officer Latray Butcher learned that Daniel Williams shattered a window at the residence after an argument. He additionally learned that Williams had pointed a handgun at the victim during a separate argument.

Officer Kamau Bazemore of the Pleasantville Police Department located Williams and arrested him on West Pleasant Avenue with assistance from other Pleasantville officers. Williams was transferred into custody of ACPD officers and his vehicle towed back to Atlantic City pending a search warrant. Williams was found in possession of a single bag of heroin and had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

On May 16, Officer Butcher executed a court ordered search warrant on Williams’ vehicle. K9 Officer Melvin Murray III and his K9 partner, Jynx, were requested to assist. K9 Jynx, who is trained in narcotic detection, provided a positive indication for narcotics. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered a handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition, 486 bags of heroin, more than three grams of cocaine, and paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics.

ARRESTED: Daniel Williams aka Damiel Williams, 33, of Galloway, NJ.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, certain person not to possess a weapon, criminal mischief, possession of CDS (three counts), possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts), and possession of a prohibited device.

Williams was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
