BRIELLE: On Saturday at 5 pm the Associated Human Society of Tinton Falls received a call from Brielle police about an osprey stuck in a tree, entangled in fishing line. When animal control officers arrived they realized time was against them. The osprey was struggling, and hanging upside down. With darkness approaching, and the height being unreachable officers reached out to several tree services. With no luck, and Brielle Fire department not having a ladder truck South Wall Fire Department was dispatched and came to the rescue! The fire department took Animal Control Officer Mercado up in the bucket and he successfully rescued the injured osprey! The osprey was immediately transported to a rehab where he will recover from his dislocated wing.
