WOODLAND: Denise’s niece shares the following. Awhile back Denise suffered a traumatic brain injury, and because of that developed epilepsy. A few months ago she started having aggressive seizures back to back, and that eventually put her into a coma when she finally came out of it after months in the hospital, she was left in a permanently disoriented state with dementia like behavior, after the seizures, she does not remember who any of our family members are and even when we bring her home, she will say things like “ I want to go home.” She will talk about my dad (her brother) and say that she wants to see him even though he’s right in front of her so she knows of us but can’t put names to a face if that makes sense. my dad has a feeling that she only remembers pieces of her childhood maybe.
This Monday around 2 AM. Supposedly, she left her house while people were asleep and we have not seen her since. she’s completely harmless but she needs her seizure medication and she’s been without it for days now and we are all very heartbroken and worried. back in the summertime this happened and she went right into the woods and she ended up in somebody’s yard but this time it’s different. The reason I’m writing in this group is because they have found her near Magnolia Road in Pemberton before and people have reported to see somebody that fits her description near presidential lakes/lebanon lakes area. We’ve also had a “sighting” near the route 206 and route 30 area which makes us believe she may have been picked up by someone with unknown intentions.
We’ve had canine officers, search parties and hunters out looking for her and we haven’t found anything yet. there was also an amber alert that went out but it only notified the Woodland Township area and not the neighboring towns. I’m trying to get the word out just in case she’s wondered farther than Chatsworth because she has done that before according to people that take care of her.
She sometimes answers to Denice Smith or sometimes her maiden name Denice Johnson.
we are getting very discouraged because we keep getting “sightings” but nobody who has called or commented on social media stopped to grab her and make sure that she’s safe. If anybody does manage to find her, please call the police immediately.
Please check your cameras and trail cameras.
