BERKELEY: Joseph Cranmer is currently sitting in Ocean County Jail with 5 counts of assault by auto, and receiving stolen property. The incident is in relation to last nights pursuit that started on the Garden State Parkway, and ended in a crash on Route 9 in Berkeley. The incident began with truck he was driving being stolen from Wawa on Route 34 in Wall Township. Police found Cranmer on the Garden State Parkway, and initiated a pursuit. The pursuit was terminated due to the lack of safety Cranmer had for others. Officers on the radio reported Cranmer as bouncing off the guardrail, and hitting other vehicles in the pursuit. Cranmer eventually crashed out on Route 9 and Buckley Lane. According to witnesses Cranmer then ran off on foot and civilians chased him, and caught him. Police then showed up and placed Cranmer under arrest.
